Worship

Music,
intensely beautiful music.
Voices gently blending,
powerfully resonant,
steadily comforting
amid instrumental harmony.

Songs of praise,
of worship,
moving hearts to feel passion
for the Cross,
for the Savior,
for His gift of Hope.

The worship team,
synchronizing expressions of sincere hearts,
obedient to the call to worship,
faithful to stand together for the Truth,
mindful of the message of the Gospel.

Who are they?

One is recovering from seasonal illness,
one carries a child within her,
one is new to the team and feels nervous,
one works unpredictable shifts as a highway patrol officer,
one cares for her mother who has entered the latter stage of cancer,
one mourns for the loss of her dear friend’s child.

How could six unique individuals,
most with significant life concerns
occupying their time,
accosting their energy,
limiting their function,
come together with such unity?

Jesus prayed to His Father…

“The glory which You have given Me
I have given to them,
that they may be one, just as We are one;
I in them and You in Me,
that they may be perfected in unity…”
~John 17:23
