Silently... Stealthily...

Silently… stealthily…
checking each door,
Quiet Persistence.
A window ajar.

Creeping about
undetected,
helping itself to
the unprotected.

Insatiably greedy,
returning each night,
finding the window
a secret delight.

Many its prize
gone unheeded;
life rushing on
as if none were needed.

Suddenly panicking,
looking about,
suspicion arouses
a deafening shout.

“Our Oneness is missing!
Togetherness gone!”
An intricate search
of each corner begun.

The dearest of friends
gather near,
consoling, encouraging,
sharing each tear.

Prayers and petitions
each moment ascend,
thankful to God
for His outreaching hand.

Requesting His shield
of protection,
broken hearts longing
to be His reflection.

Silently… stealthily…
noiseless, it creeps,
returning, like always,
while everyone sleeps.

Strangely, the window
is tight.
Quiet Persistence
works on through the night.

Suddenly sensing
the presence of One,
Separateness sees
that its work here is done.

Silently… stealthily…
creeping away,
with hope to return
if they cease to pray.

“Every good thing bestowed
and every perfect gift is from above,
coming down from the Father of Lights,
with Whom there is no variation
or shifting shadow.”
~James 1:17
