Taste and See

Taste of God’s awesome creation,
See every star in its place.
Taste His immeasurable power,
See and respond to His grace.

Taste of the fruit, and remember,
See where the bitter taste leads.
Taste of His infinite mercy,
See what is Abraham’s Seed.

Taste of the wine from the wedding,
See what the Lord has in store.
Taste fish and bread from the basket,
See the abundance left o’er.

Taste lonliness with the leper,
See the lame invalid stand.
Taste desparate longing for healing,
See His compassionate hand.

Taste of the cup… of bread broken,
See Jesus’ body… His blood.
Taste of the cup he passed over,
See His torn robe in the mud.

Taste of His absolute victory,
See the huge stone rolled away.
Taste of sweet hope for tomorrow,
See Him returning one day.

Taste of the joyous reunions,
See as He gathers His own.
Go unto all the world… that
They, too, may draw near to the Throne!

“O taste and see that the Lord is good;
how blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.
O fear the Lord, you His saints; for to those who fear Him,
there is no want.”     ~Psalm 34:8,9
